Anne Mauro Annie Mauro

Here's an interesting situation involving Anne ("Annie") Mauro, whose mom doesn't seem to think her daughter should be held responsible for her actions. And at least one member of the Mauro family seems willing to lie to the court. Long story short: 1) Annie bought a ticket for the ~1:30 bus but ignored five warnings admonishing her to have a printed ticket to board. By buying a ticket, Annie tied up a seat which other customers could have purchased. 2) Annie, crying, tried to board bus without a printed ticket, but was turned away. 3) Annie bought another ticket, this time for the 3 pm bus, and printed it out. 4) Annie's mom, Robin Mauro, disputed the charge for the second ticket (?). Although Annie only rode once, she consumed two seats: The seat she tied up on the first bus, and the seat she occupied on the second bus. When purchasing a ticket, Customer agrees that charges are non-refundable and Suburban Express guarantees that it will hold a seat. If customers back out of their end of the deal, the whole system falls apart. We can't guarantee seats if customers do not guarantee payment. Robin Mauro then reversed one of the credit card charges -- charges which Anne Mauro had agreed were non-refundable and irrevocable. We fought her chargeback and won. But we were left with a $16 fee for the chargeback and we wasted time responding to the fraudulent chargeback. In court, Annie stated that her brother had repeatedly boarded Suburban Express without a paper ticket. And her mother parroted the same statement. We knew someone was lying, because a printed ticket is an absolute requirement to board all of our buses. In fact, our records confirm that Steven Mauro did actually present a paper ticket each and EVERY time he rode. Did Steven lie to little Annie and his mom, or did Annie and her mom lie to the court? Did Anne and Robin Mauro Purjure themselves on the stand? Steven Mauro Purchase History Steven Mauro Ticket Usage Here is the full transcript: Anne Mauro Judge Chase Leonhard seems to have lost touch with reality, as he accepts Student Legal Service's argument that a Federal law which governs the relationship between a card issuer (ie Citibank) and a cardholder (ie Anne Mauro's mom) also governs the relationship between a card holder and a merchant, which it most certainly does not. Chase also seems to say that his small claims court is no place for a small claims case. That left us wondering if he feels he is a Supreme Court justice trapped in the robe of a small claims judge. We believe we would have prevailed had we appealed this case, but we chose not to. We are, however, appealing another, similarly ridiculous, ruling by Chase. Both Anne Mauro and Steven Mauro have been banned from Suburban Express for their roles in this fraud. Updates: On September 24, 2014, Annie's Mom ran whining to Chase Leonhard with this letter. Mauro seems to be the epitome of a helicopter parent. Perhaps things would turn out better for her kiddies if she disengaged a bit and let them scrape their elbows every once in awhile. Mauro should have held her daughter accountable for her actions. Instead, she continues to pretend that the world is the problem, not her lying, irresponsible children. In early 2015, Mommie Mauro ran whining to the BBB. She seems to understand that she should be embarrassed that she and her daughter lied in court, or that her son lied to her and her daughter, and they parroted the lies in court. And she seems desperate to erase the lies. Our recommendation to her and her children: If you don't want to be held responsible for your lies, don't lie. Here is her nonsensical complaint. Note that slander is spoken and libel is written. "Slanderous website accusing my family of perjury needs to be removed. Google ***** *****, ***** ***** or ***** ***** for all the details With reference to ticket purchased on 2/23/2013 but not used, Suburban Express would not response to written refund request on answer the phone. After repeated attempts to contact Suburban Express, I disputed the charge. Chase still paid the for this ticket due to the $ amount involved. They came after my daughter (it's my credit card) for payment of miscellaneous collection fees and the merchant chargeback fee that they were assessed by their credit card processor. With my knowledge of credit card rules, I knew that that the law forbids them to pass on their merchant costs to the customer. It is their cost of doing business. We are now faced with customer bashin on their website and being accused of perjury. Since this internet related, no one will help us. Hoping you can." We are tres amused that Mommie Mauro thinks it's incumbent upon us to cover the damages which she created. If she threw a rock through our window and we asked her to pay for the damages, she would apparently claim that dealing with broken windows is our "cost of doing business." We think that's hilarious. We'd like to see Mommie Mauro spend her time teaching her children not to lie instead of spending her time trying to fix the problems created by their lying.
